I’m a mum of 4 boys who’s had various health issues to get to the bottom of over the years, and there’s one supplement that has felt like night and day for my children’s health.

Nutrition is never the whole story when it comes to child development, and we would never suggest supplements are a replacement for therapies, support, connection, play, or professional guidance.

SALMON SWEET POTATO PATTIES One of those wonderfu

SALMON SWEET POTATO PATTIES

One of those wonderfully simple meals that feels both comforting and deeply nourishing. Soft sweet potato makes these naturally sweet and the salmon brings beautiful nourishment for growing bodies, especially omega-3 fats that support brain development.

I also love these because they come together so quickly and are a brilliant way to use leftover salmon, or a good-quality tin of wild salmon from the cupboard for busy days

Makes 6 patties

INGREDIENTS

• 250g cooked sweet potato flesh
• 1 medium free-range egg, beaten
• 150g cooked or tinned wild salmon
• 100g fresh sourdough breadcrumbs
• 1 spring onion, finely sliced
• ½ tsp garlic granules
• Black pepper
• Tallow or coconut oil, for frying

METHOD

1. Mash the sweet potato until smooth.
2. Stir in the egg, salmon, breadcrumbs, spring onion, garlic granules and black pepper.
3. Using lightly oiled hands (coconut oil works well), shape into 6 patties.
4. Heat tallow or coconut oil in a frying pan over a medium heat. Cook the patties for around 4–5 minutes on each side until golden and cooked through.
5. Serve with your favourite veg.

These also keep really well in the fridge for a couple of days, or can be frozen for quick nourishing meals

For egg alternative:
1 tbsp ground flaxseed + 3 tbsp water
Mix and leave for 5–10 minutes until gel-like.
