Tools, truths & nourishment for raising kids who thrive
I’ve spent years learning, researching and trying to understand how we can give our children the very best start in life. And now, I’ve finally put everything I’ve learnt into one book!
Raising Mighty Kids is so much more than a recipe book. It’s everything I wish I’d known when I first became a mum, when I was overwhelmed by all the conflicting advice about food, nutrition and raising healthy children.
As a mum of four boys and the founder of Mighty Kids Supplements, I’ve been on quite a journey myself. I’ve gone from worrying about absolutely everything when it came to my children’s health to feeling so much more confident in the choices I make for our family. And that’s exactly what I hope this book will help other parents do too.
Inside you’ll find 75 delicious, nourishing, family-friendly recipes, alongside all the things I’ve learnt about children’s nutrition, the foods I believe are worth prioritising and the little changes we can make at home that can have such a positive impact on family life.
We’ll explore everything from traditional, nutrient-dense foods like bone broth, meat, eggs and healthy fats, to supplements, everyday environmental exposures and why the world our children are growing up in looks so different to the one we grew up in.
And of course, there’s plenty of food! From breakfasts and easy lunches to family dinners, nourishing treats and kitchen staples. Recipes I’ve made for my own boys, including plenty for those fussy eating stages that so many of us know all too well!
And something that was incredibly important to me when creating this book was making sure it wasn’t simply based on my own experiences and opinions. The science really matters to me. That’s why the information throughout the book has been carefully researched and scientifically referenced, with the support of our Mighty Kids in-house medical professional, who joined our team specifically to bring an exceptional level of scientific rigour to everything we do. I wanted parents to have a book that feels easy and enjoyable to read, but with the reassurance that the science behind it has been taken seriously.
There’s also a much more personal side to this book. I share my own story, the struggles we’ve faced as a family and how I’ve learnt to move away from fear and towards a much happier, more balanced approach to health.
I’ve poured so much of my heart into these pages. My hope is that you’ll come away feeling inspired, full of new ideas and, most importantly, more confident in your ability to nourish and care for your family.
Because raising healthy children shouldn’t have to feel so complicated.
With love, Rachael x
